In happier news, apparently there is a holiday I’ve never ever heard of but should have a long time ago: yesterday was “brush your elephant’s teeth day”! Interesting that you, Germany, would be able to find a toothbrush that big to clean your elephants’ teeth with. Thailand, remember to follow suit especially since we are the land of smiles!

“Queenie, an Asian elephant who gained fame by water skiing decades ago, died this week at the Georgia theme park where she had retired. The 59-year-old elephant was euthanized Monday at the Wild Adventures theme park in Valdosta, Ga., park general manager Bob Montgomery said. The animal had suffered from declining quality of life and chronic health issues.”
Just got back from Chiang Mai, was hoping to see elephants at this camp where they do art performances and play sports. However, we got there at 3 p.m. and the guy said they stop shows after 1:30 because the elephants “get stressed out.” STRESSED from playing soccer and painting! Such a shame :( Hipster elephants be getting too good for me.
